More Face-to-Face. More Choice. Still the Same Price.

A full hour of individual support — online, at 'OakWell Education', or in your own home.

It has been a very busy start to the new academic year at 'OakWell Education', and we are delighted to say that we are now in a position to offer more face-to-face tutoring appointments alongside our established online provision, and importantly, there will be no increase in cost for face-to-face tuition.

We have always believed that good education should begin with the individual. Some students thrive online, enjoying the familiarity of learning from home without the additional pressure of travelling somewhere new. Others engage better when their tutor is sitting beside them, with a book open on the table, a pen in hand and someone there to notice immediately when that slightly puzzled expression means, "I have absolutely no idea what you just said."

So, where location allows, 'OakWell Education' students can now have greater choice. Lessons can continue online, take place face-to-face here with us, or we can come to you and tutor in your own home. The important thing is finding what works best for the student.

There is another part of the 'OakWell Education' approach that we think is worth mentioning: our standard tutoring lessons are a full 60 minutes. Many tutoring sessions elsewhere are based around 45- or 50-minute appointments. At 'OakWell Education', an hour means an hour.

Those extra ten or fifteen minutes might not sound particularly significant, but over weeks and months they add up. More importantly, they give us time to teach without rushing. There is time to settle, revisit something from the previous lesson, introduce new material, practise it properly, ask questions and finish with a clear understanding of what comes next.

For some of our students, that time is particularly valuable. A young person who is anxious, neurodivergent, lacking confidence or simply having a difficult day may need a little time before they are ready to learn. We don't want the clock to dictate the relationship or turn every lesson into a race to squeeze everything in.

That is why 'OakWell Education' has always been about more than simply delivering subject content. Whether we are teaching English, Psychology, preparing a student for an entrance examination, supporting additional learning needs or building confidence, we are working with the person in front of us — not just the syllabus (and apparently, face-to-face tuition also means there is an increased possibility of encountering Bronte and Nelly, although their contribution to academic progress remains questionable).

So, as OakWell Education' continues to grow, we are really pleased to be able to offer families more flexibility:

Online tuition. Face-to-face tuition at 'Oakwell Education'. Face-to-face tuition in your own home where practical. A full 60-minute lesson with no additional charge simply because you choose face-to-face support.

Same 'OakWell Education' approach. Same individual attention. Just a few more ways to access it because sometimes the best learning happens through a screen — and sometimes it happens sitting together at a table.
